Everything was numb. I got up at 6am to go to my auditing job Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then clocked in at 5pm to work my overnight job. I was determined to change our lives. It had an underlying meaning, I wanted to get away. Away from a man that used words that stabbed like broken pill bottles. Sometimes, you don't always get it right the first time. Sometimes, you settle for what's safer, or in that moment feels that way.

Set in early 20th-century Savannah, The House That Prayed in Silence centers on a powerful, deeply religious matriarch who has spent decades protecting her family’s reputation by hiding the truth. As her health fades, her 16-year-old great-grandson begins to question the stories he was raised on. Whispers, secrets, and erased histories spark a quiet battle between faith and control, memory and truth, and a legacy built on silence.

What a Mess. Political satire hidden within actual news and life lessons.
Read more from What A Mess (News and Opinion)Let's get one thing straight: Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. This is not up for debate.
If there was ever a way to publicly humiliate an allied leader—one who is literally fighting for his country’s survival—Trump and his administration managed to find it.
While unprecedented, the legal and diplomatic basis for this approach is intriguing. This bold move could offer Ukraine several major advantages...

Okay, a day is a bit of a stretch — I had to do a few additional bug fixes the next day, but the main app was functional and running within one day. Not only that, I had a dashboard and some metrics. This isn’t a huge app, but it is very much a real, working thing — and represents probably at least a month or two of coding effort.
Today, let us strip away the "textbook" idealism and focus on the raw facts of the matter regarding how science actually functions in the real world, which reveals a much more grounded and sometimes grittier reality. Here is the truth about the scientific establishment, written to focus on the human and systemic mechanics that drive it.
This letter is written from a place of truth, love, and deep responsibility to my people. We have carried weight that was never meant to break us, yet we are still standing—strong, united, and resilient. Black people are rooted in power, shaped by endurance, and driven by purpose. Our unity is our strength, our love is our shield, and our excellence is our legacy. We rise not in spite of what we have endured, but because of it. When we stand together, honor one another, and uplift our communities, we affirm that our lives, our voices, and our futures matter. Black strength is generational. Black love is sacred. Black excellence is unstoppable.
I spent 30 days identifying birds using only sound, without relying on sight. At first, bird calls blended together and highlighted how dependent they were on visual cues. Over time, patterns like rhythm, pitch, and repetition became clearer, improving listening skills and confidence (with plenty of mistakes along the way). By the end, birds felt more present in daily life, teaching that careful listening can deepen birding skills, appreciation for common species, and overall connection to nature. 🐦

Read more from Cycles of Reflection"Key-Kee!" Nadine echoed, her tiny hands gripping the floor as she crawled forward, her voice bubbling with excitement. "No, it is Kit-Ty," Harold corrected, shaking his head. "She says it wrong. She is still a baby," Elise said gently. "Meow, meow… meowww," Nadine mimicked the family cat, her tiny frame wiggling like a kitten in play. Eli dropped to his hands and knees beside her. "Meowww!" he exaggerated, scrunching his nose and wiggling his fingers like whiskers. "Ugh, this is ridiculous," Harold groaned. As Nadine moved, the soft fur of her costume brushed against her arms, keeping her warm against the cool fall air. She did not know it yet, but this was something she would carry forever. Her orange-striped costume tail flicked behind her. It was her first Halloween, the night she would start transforming into something more. Later, as shadows stretched across the walls, she whispered her first sign of something greater. "Here, Key-Kee."
"The melody of ‘Jesus Loves the Little Children’ drifted through the quiet church, each note steady beneath Yara’s fingertips. No one noticed how her back stiffened, how her breath caught just slightly before she pressed forward, playing through the sharp waves of pain. The music continued, but time itself seemed to slow. It wasn’t time. Not yet."

Hello. My name is Dr. AY Heath; you can call me Angel. I'm here to chronicle a big goal for myself. And trust me, it is a very big goal. So what is this big goal. I’m going to read and break down 150 film scripts. That does sound like a lot, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and, after stepping away from my corporate job, I dove into film school and have been diving deep into the process of storytelling. But I want to do more than just learn technical skills; I want to understand what works and doesn't and see where we're in this big filmmaking industry.

February Field Notes: Tracing the Missing in America’s Parks At GeoFields, we believe every trail tells a story — and some stories are still unfinished. This year, we’ve launched an ongoing project to create the most detailed, publicly accessible record of all missing persons cases in America’s national and state parks. It’s a living archive meant to raise awareness, preserve memory, and, where possible, help bring answers to those still searching. These cases are stark reminders that even the most prepared can be caught off guard by nature’s unpredictability. As we continue to expand our missing persons database, we invite you to share stories, photographs, and memories. Together, we can honor those who’ve vanished and help ensure future adventurers return home.
